Programme structure
The scope of the Master's Programme in Nutrition Sciences is 120 credits (ECTS). The programme comprises:
Advanced studies, 60 cr
- Compulsory advanced studies, 45 cr (including the Master’s thesis, 30 cr and thesis seminar 5 cr; and other compulsory studies, 10 cr)
- Elective Module, 15 cr
Other studies, 60 cr
- Introduction and core methods, 15 cr
- Methodological course, 5 cr
- Optional studies, 30– 35 cr
- Career skills 5–10 cr
The elective advanced study modules (15 credits) cover the two thematic areas:
- The Nutritional Physiology and Molecular Nutrition module focuses on the function and interactions of nutrients in the body, and the role of diet and nutrients in the development of chronic diseases.
- The Public Health Nutrition module looks at the nutritional factors that influence the health of populations and population groups and examines how this knowledge can be utilised to promote health.
The elective advanced study module, optional studies, the Master's thesis and possible traineeship offer you the opportunity to tailor your degree to your own interests.
