Frozen Winter Wonderland

This winter in Finland has seen the country transform into a frozen, snow-covered wonderland, to the delight of some, and possibly to the horror of others. Some people enjoy skiing in magical snowy landscapes, and others prefer a hot summer’s day at the beach. But whether one is a winter person or not, there is always great beauty to be found in nature; surely the sight of heart-shaped holes in the ice would warm anyone’s heart even on the coldest of days? It is in the appreciation of such beauty where the magic of winter truly lies.

Freezing Temperatures

Temperatures in January and February have been lower than -10 degrees, even reached as low as -25 degrees at the beginning of the year. The walkways have been icy and slippery, making every trip to campus an incredible feat.
