Fall Reception 2022

During the fall reception, students and teachers of the Global Politics and Communication Master's Program celebrated the beginning of a new school year in the glorious late afternoon sunshine.

On September 9, the Global Politics and Communication (GPC) programme held its annual fall reception to welcome new student into the program, and continuing students back after the summer. Meeting on the outside terrace of Unioninkatu 35, we had the opportunity to enjoy the last rays of summer sunshine with some drinks and light snacks, and to get acquainted and reacquainted with fellow students, as well as with teachers in GPC.

This year, the GPC student body is more international and diverse than ever with students from different areas of the globe, including Colombia, United States, Germany, Russia, Hong Kong, Japan, Spain and Finland. Moreover, Finnish students come from increasingly diverse backgrounds, having studied in countries such as South Korea and Ireland. A similar diversity can also be found in the academic interests of students in the programme, whether related to media and democracy, global governance or the global political economy.

We are looking forward to the new academic year ahead, especially to in-person interactions, which were limited during the COVID-19 pandemic. The GPC programme wishes all students a thought-provoking semester with meaningful encounters and new experiences.
