The project "The Foundations of the European Union as a Polity", which is part of the research carried out by Academy of Finland Research Fellow Massimo Fichera, is delighted to invite submissions for a Young Researchers Symposium on the Future of Europe, to be held on 8-9 May, 2018.
The keynote speech will be delivered by prof. Joseph Weiler, European Union Jean Monnet Chair at the New York University Law School and one of the most internationally acclaimed scholars in the field. The symposium is intended for both PhD candidates and early-career Post-doctoral researchers in law and cognate disciplines, as well as law practitioners and civil servants. Prof. Weiler has kindly agreed to provide feedback on the papers.
The workshop, organised at the Faculty of Law, University of Helsinki, brings together promising junior researchers to encourage them to present their work and receive feedback from their peers and senior academics.
Abstracts are welcome within the broad topic of the “Future of Europe”. The proposed abstracts should be no longer than 500 words and will be chosen based on the quality of the abstract, as well as its capacity to engage with other proposals towards a collaborative academic and intellectual dialogue. A selection of the papers will be considered for publication. Abstracts have been submitted, along with a short CV (1-2 pages) to the following e-mail: email@example.com.
Please format the abstract file name as abstract title_first name_last name. Please also submit your CV as a separate file, named with the format of first name_last name_CV. All files should be submitted as PDF documents. Submissions have been received by 10 December 2017. Selected papers (max. 8000-10000 words incl. footnotes) have been announced on 15 January 2018 , while final papers should be submitted by 20 April 2018 to the following e-mail: firstname.lastname@example.org .
