SysMus27

The (International Conference of Students of Systematic Musicology) are annual student-run events designed to allow advanced students in the fields of systematic musicology and music science. Keynote speakers include internationally renowned researchers working in various sub-fields of systematic musicology and music science.

SysMus27 at the University of Helsinki will be the 20th edition, organized by the () as part of the Centre of Excellence in Music, Mind, Body, and Brain ().

In 2027, SysMus will celebrate its 20th anniversary, an amazing milestone for a conference that has become one of the longest-running and most renowned student conferences in music research!

Over two decades, SysMus has been organized worldwide in ten different countries: Austria (Graz, 2008), Belgium (Ghent, 2009; Ghent, 2022), the UK (Cambridge, 2010; London, 2014; London, 2017; York, 2020; Sheffield, 2023; Durham, 2026), Germany (Cologne, 2011; Leipzig, 2015; Berlin, 2019), Canada (Montreal, 2012), Italy (Genoa, 2013), Finland (Jyväskylä, 2016; Jyväskylä, 2024), Brazil (Belo Horizonte, 2018), Denmark (Aarhus, 2021), and Norway (Oslo, 2025).

In 2027, for its 20th anniversary, SysMus will be hosted in Helsinki!
