Research Services Days 2027 invites to reflect on which values and practices of research stand the test of time and change—and how research support services can strengthen and sustain them in the future?
Four thematic tracks are meant to inspire participants to reflect their work and expertise from different angles that are relevant in research service world.
The credibility of science is built on responsibility, research integrity, and good scientific practice. In the current "post-truth era" and in an increasingly international research environment, these principles are more important than ever.
We welcome presentations on topics including, but not limited to:
Responsibility in research support services
Research integrity and good scientific practice
The post-truth era, disinformation, and trust in science
International collaboration, research security, and diverse operational cultures
An educated and enlightened society is built on research-based knowledge. This track explores the economic and societal impact of research, as well as science communication and public engagement as means of effectively sharing research-based knowledge.
We welcome presentations on topics including, but not limited to:
Supporting research impact
The role and tasks of research support services in science communication
Collaboration with industry, public sector, and civil society
Challenges, opportunities, and methods of research commercialisation
Freedom is a fundamental value of science, but it also entails responsibility. This track explores, for example, the conditions that enable research, the boundaries and requirements of research funding, research security, and the opportunities offered by open science.
We welcome presentations on topics including, but not limited to:
The boundaries and requirements of research funding, and their impact on research
Research security and risk management
Open science and responsible research data management
Security-related issues in research collaboration
The needs and duties of researchers in a changing operational environment
The role of research support services in promoting academic freedom, research security, and openness
Successful research is built on collaboration. This track examines the cross-cutting collaboration within and between higher education and research institutes, and the role of research management and administration (RMA) in supporting research. Additionally, it encourages sharing good practices with the RMA community.
We welcome presentations on topics including, but not limited to:
Cross-functional operating models and good practices
The role of RMA professionals and professional development
Successful models of collaboration across organisational boundaries
Networks, peer learning, and community building
Process development and service design in research support services
Experiences and lessons learned from everyday practice in research support services
