Vallisaari excursion

The excursion to island will take place on Friday 28.8 at 14:00.

For the excursion, you can either meet us directly at the Vallisaari ferry (Market Square) at 13:40, or at 13:30 at the conference registration desk, from where we will head together to the ferry departure point. The ferry leaves at 14:00 sharp (unlike for Suomenlinna, the next one is not until 15:30!), and to secure our seats, we must be at the dock 20 minutes before departure. The trip to the island takes about 30 minutes.

Unlike the Suomenlinna excursion, ferries to Vallisaari do not run as frequently, capacity is more limited, and tickets are tied to specific departure times. Thus, there won’t be another group of organizers waiting for latecomers. Please be on time for departure; otherwise, you will have to join us by purchasing your own ticket to the island!

We will take the 17:00 ferry back to Helsinki. If, for any reason, you don’t make it to this ferry, there will be more ferries approximately every hour (until 22:00), but, as mentioned, tickets are tied to specific departure times.

After the excursion, we are planning to continue with a casual, self-paid dinner together somewhere in the city centre at a place to be decided (or spontaneously organized!).
