Please note that we are not offering an interactive hybrid seminar. All plenary sessions are streamed and can be watched for free, with no chance for online observers to comment or ask questions. Other sessions will not be available for online observers.

Regrettably, we will not be able to offer refunds.

Registration fees are exempted from VAT.

Register in the online registration system. Please note that you will be required to make the registration payment at the time of registration.

The registration fee includes
The in-person participation fee includes admission to all scientific events of the conference, conference materials, free Wi-Fi, coffee/tea during breaks listed in the programme, admission to a reception hosted by the City of Helsinki on the 26th October, and admission to the conference virtual environment.

The online participation fee includes the possibility to present a paper online, and admission to the conference virtual environment, where it is possible to connect with other conference participants.

Additional Information
  • The working language of the conference is English.
  • There is a PC and projector in every lecture hall.
  • Please let us know in advance if any special assistance is needed (please email fcree-aleksconf@helsinki.fi)
  • Participants and observers who do not wish to give a paper or organise a panel or roundtable are also welcome to take part in the conference (standard registration rates apply, see Registration Rates page).  
  • All conference participants are required to register.
Note on the Ukraine War

Taking into account the principles of engagement agreed upon by Finnish Universities (UNIFI) and guidelines of the University of Helsinki on collaboration with Russia and Belarus, the conference organisers note the following:

  • No proposal or presentation advocating for Russia’s war on Ukraine will be accepted.
  • Colleagues based in Russia or Belarus will participate in a personal capacity.

The conference organisers encourage Ukraine-based or displaced Ukrainian scholars to participate in the event. For this purpose they are exempted from paying the conference fee.
