The 11th Explorations in Ethnography, Language and Communication (EELC)

Welcome to the 11th Explorations in Ethnography, Language and Communication (EELC) conference! The conference will take place at the University of Helsinki, Finland, on 24 – 25 May 2027.  

The theme of the conference is Language, communication and environments.   

We invite scholars, and students from diverse disciplines to discuss all areas of ethnography, linguistics, and communication. The programme will feature plenary lectures, individual presentations, poster sessions and roundtables. The language of the conference is English.

• The deadline for submissions of abstracts: October 18, 2026
• Notification of acceptance: December 21, 2026
• The programme will be released: TBA
• Registration opens: in 2027, TBA after the acceptance of submissions.
