SUBMITTING DOCUMENTS TO ADMISSION SERVICES FOR NON-DEGREE PROGRAMMES IN TEACHER EDUCATION

These instructions tell you how to submit attachments for non-degree programmes for teacher qualifications at the Faculty of Education. The programmes are Studies for special education teachers, Multidisciplinary studies, and Pedagogical studies for subject teachers (including the STEP -programme).

You can submit the required attachments either electronically or in paper.

If you would like to deliver paper documents to the Admission Services, you can send them by post to the P.O. Box address, deliver the documents by using a courier service, or deliver them in person to the mailbox of the Admission Services. If you deliver paper documents, please mark the name of the non-degree programme in question on the upper left corner of the envelope.

Please take into account that the documents have to be at the Admission Services by the given deadline, a postmark will not do.  The sender is always responsible for the delivery of the documents and meeting the deadlines in all cases.

When submitting attachments to your application, please make sure that you have included all the required documents and, in some very rare cases, their translations. If the original documents are in some other language than Finnish, Swedish, or English, please contact the Admission Services for closer details.

DO I HAVE TO SUBMIT ATTACHEMENTS?

Degree Certificate

You do not have to submit a copy of your Degree Certificate if you have taken your degree

  • at the University of Helsinki at any time; or
  • at another Finnish university in 1995 or later.

However, when applying to the STEP –programme you have to submit a copy of your Degree Certificate if it contains a statement of equivalency for a teaching subject (= opetettavan aineen vastaavuuslausunto in Finnish).

Equivalency Certificate

If an Equivalency Certificate of a teaching subject (= opetettavan aineen vastaavuustodistus in Finnish) is required, you always have to submit it. As stated above, this can also be a statement in the Degree Certificate.

DELIVERING ATTACHEMENTS ELECTRONICALLY THROUGH STUDYINFO.FI

When you have filled in and saved the application through the Studyinfo.fi service, the system requests you attach the required documents. If you want to submit the attachments electronically, you can save the documents in the Studyinfo.fi service by the given deadline. Please note that you do not have to submit the documents at the same time with filling in the application. In other words, you can log in to the Studyinfo.fi service again and complete the application afterwards. Please save the attachments in PDF format.
