“The Helsinki Summer School programme was excellent. As a person with limited experience traveling internationally, it was a great opportunity to meet new people from different backgrounds. Since I am continuing on as a University of Helsinki Master's student, I felt as though this was a perfect way to get acquainted with Helsinki. Adjusting to living in a new country can be challenging, but being able to spend 3 weeks learning the language and exploring in a structured way was more helpful than I could have imagined!”
“Helsinki is an awesome city and I almost am in love with the simplicity, thoughtfulness, quality, efficiency, diversity and ease of living here. I loved attending various cultural events and places. The transportation too was quite streamlined. The expenses are high here but many student discounts are available that kind of covers up for it. Coming to Helsinki Summer School opened many dimensions in my way of thinking...and I truly hope to keep visiting again and again."
"I had heard so much about Finnish education system and now I can say, the rumors have been true! I was a part of ‘Brain,Cognition and Communication’ and it was an enthralling experience. What I liked best was the novelty as well as integrative approach the course offered, content of lectures, open discussions, interactive laboratory sessions and well organised curriculum. The multicultural and diverse group we got to meet here was an extra bonus to the course. We came across so many point of views and questions. The whole idea of having a poster session/learning diaries/peer review was something very effective. It made us revise what we had learnt/not been able to follow giving appropriate feedback to the peers and organisers as well. The best part was though the lectures were of 4 hours everyday, they made us think so much that it left us exhausted!”
