Speaker: Jukka Pekola Title: Thermalization in quantum circuits I discuss thermalization of isolated quantum systems. A basic example is a qubit coupled to a collection of two-level systems (TLS:s) or to a multi-mode cavity [1] . I discuss the Poincare recurrence time under different conditions in these setups. At the end I present our recent work suggesting that non-linearity, in our case three-wave mixing, leads to thermalization in terms of populations in a multi-mode cavity [2]. Although the work is theoretical, I pay attention to recent and potential future experimental realizations of these phenomena in superconducting quantum circuits.
