Getting From the Airport to City Center

Helsinki-Vanta International Airport is located at 22 kilometres north of the city. A taxi to the city costs about 25 Euros.

A bus service operates between the airport and the city centre; the journey costs 4,90 Euros and takes about 30 minutes.

Another option is to use city busses 615 or 617. The fee is 3 Euros.

Entering to the Campus

The workshop is held in the new building for the Physical Sciences at the Kumpula campus area. The address of Helsinki Institute of Physics is Gustaf Hällströmin katu 2. The name of the street has been changed recently, the former name was Nils Hasselblomin katu 2 (and before that the street was part of the street called Väinö Auerin katu).

Note: Taxi drivers may be more familiar with the old street names, so to be sure, keep all addresses available.

The University campus is situated about 20 minutes by bus or tram from the city center. Bus number 55 and tram number 6 are the preferred ways to get to the Kumpula campus area.

You can also walk from Hotel Pasila to the Kumpula campus area. Here is a suggested route for this walk.
