A strong electroweak phase transition without supersymmetry

I will discuss the electroweak phase transition in the standard model augmented by a (Higgs)^6 term in the scalar potential. In particular, I will present results on the bubble expansion velocity in this class of models. In a second part I will discuss the phase transition in the 2 Higgs doublet model in the light of recent LHC results.
