HIP Theory Project: String Theory and Mathematical Physics

News:

K.P. Yogendran (former postdoc) has started as an assistant professor of physics at IISER Mohali, becoming the 6th former HIP string theorist who has moved to a faculty position elsewhere. M. Järvinen (collaborator) and S. Nowling (current postdoc) have accepted postdoctoral offers at Crete U. and NORDITA to begin in Fall 2010. Congratulations!
In 2009 we received the sad news of our former colleague Jaydeep Majumder passing away at young age. We miss him.

Overview:

We study new methods and techniques applicable to various areas of theoretical physics. We collaborate with other HIP theory groups, the mathematical physics group of the Department of Mathematics and Statistics, and are a part of the larger community in Kumpula Campus interested in novel topics at the boundary of mathematics and physics.
Our research is in part supported by the Academy of Finland.
