Full Professor & Head of Chair, Philosophy, Ragnar Nurkse School of Innovation and Governance, Tallinn University of Technology.


Research Director of the Helsinki Peirce Research Centre and the DiaMind Project, funded by the Academy of Finland at the University of Helsinki (2013-2017) and the Estonian Research Council (2013-2015) at Tallinn University of Technology


My research interests include History and Philosophy of Science and Technology, Pragmatism, History and Philosophy of Logic, Philosophy of Language and Signs, Philosophy of Mathematics, Game Theory, Philosophy of Action, Cognitive and Complexity Sciences.


In 2014-2015 I am Special Expert to P.R. China at Xiamen University, Centre for Epistemology and Cognitive Science. Since 2012 I have been Visiting Professor in the Centre for the Study of Language and Cognition at Zhejiang University, Hangzhou. In 2010-12 I was Visiting Professor in the Department of Philosophy at the Kyung Hee University, Seoul, and in 2009-2014 Full Professor of Semiotics, University of Helsinki, Finland. For 2011-2012 I received the Joan Nordell Fellowship, one of eight Visiting Fellowships awarded by Harvard University College's Houghton Library.


My books include Signs of Logic: Peircean Themes on the Philosophy of Language, Games, and Communication (Springer Synthese Library, 2006), Game Theory and Linguistic Meaning (ed., CRiSPI, Elsevier Science, 2007), Logic of the Future (to appear, 2015). My journal publications include ovar 100 scientific and scholarly papers in Synthese, Int. J. Philosophy of Science, Journal of the History of Ideas, Semiotica, Perspectives on Science, History and Philosophy of Logic, Journal of Logic, Language and Information, Linguistics and the Human Sciences, Studia Logica, Cognitio, History of Philosophy Quarterly, Notre Dame Journal for Formal Logic, Pragmatics & Cognition.
