B. FUNCTIONS OF ADVERB PHRASES
On a sentence or clause level adverb phrases can have the following syntactic function:
Adverbial: They did it systematically.

Premodifier of an adjective: We’re [very good].

Premodifier of a preposition: They were standing [(right by) the door].
