After Carroll, 1988, Nelson, 1994, and Riva Rossi, Gosztonyi & Cozzuol, 2000, with Recent species from Froese & Pauly, 2001 [“The Fishbase”]
Note:
While naming a new fossil cusk-eel species, †Genypterus valdensensis, Riva Rossi et al. mention that it belongs to a tribe Lepophidiini. This and other tribes were not mentioned in Nelson (1994), which is the main source of this and other fish-pages. Also the FishBase does not use subfamilies or tribes, which makes the combination of it and Nelson (1994) much more difficult.
