The decision to participate awaited until Friday afternoon when the
sun figures looked favorable. I'm happy that I decided to go QRV in 2000's
contest because for once the conditions were really good! 7 MHz was tough
because of the BC-stations and I know I had many such stations calling
me, which I couldn't copy. Hope I didn't log anyone else's qsos on that
band as the same lsn-frequency was usually used by many EU stns... WW2Y
was that only 160 contact - TNX OM. KC1XX was loud there too on Sat morning,
but I had my TX split to 80 m when I called him, HI. Condx on Sunday were
a little peculiar with 10 meters staying open to the last minutes. Initial
score objective was set at 3,4 Meg, 4300 q, 265 mults. The time 'lost'
on low bands perhaps should have been better to use on 20-10. I had hoped
for 5+30+55 mults from 160-40. Now I broke the current OH-record only by
about 80 k. I hope that my efforts in copying callsigns and messages correctly
pays of. Special thanks to Kari, OH5LF for again making it possible for
me to use his world class setup!
I observed the contest rules and my license conditions. Helsinki March 6th 2000 Ilkka Korpela, OH1WZ
