How to get to the Kumpula campus on Friday

    On Friday the lectures are held at the Exactum building in the new Kumpula campus. Information on the campus area and public transport can be found here.
    General information on the public transport in Helsinki is also available. You can purchase tickets from the driver; a single ticket (valid for 1 hour) costs 2 Euro (1.80 in a tram if you need not change).
    Here is a summary:
  • by Taxi: The address that should be given to the driver is "Exactum building, Gustaf Hällströmin katu 2b, Kumpula".
  • by tram from the Central railway station in Helsinki: Go to the tram stop at Kaivokatu and take tram no. 6 heading east ("to the left, as seen from the railway station"). Leave the tram at the stop "Kyläsaarenkatu" after appr. 10 min. The campus is located on the hill across the street. Climb the hill and you will see a map showing the campus area.
  • by bus from Pasila railway station: Take the bus no. 506. The busstop is not the one opposite to the station, but on the street "Ratapihantie" on the left (100 m downhill). Leave the bus after appr. 10 min. at the busstop "Sumatrantie". Continue 100 m by foot, climb the hill on the right, and you will see a map showing the campus area.
  • by tram from Hotel Arthur: On the street Kaisaniemenkatu you will see the tram stop "Kaisaniemi". Take tram no. 6 heading north, toward a bridge. Leave the tram at the stop "Kyläsaarenkatu" after appr. 10 min. The campus is located on the hill across the street. Climb the hill and you will see a map showing the campus area.
  • by tram from the University guesthouse at Vironkatu: walk to the end of Vironkatu and take tram no. 7B at the stop "Vironkatu". After the tram crosses a bridge, you should change to tram no. 6. The last possibility for change is at the stop "Vilhonvuori". Leave this tram at the stop "Kyläsaarenkatu". The campus is located on the hill across the street. Climb the hill and you will see a map showing the campus area.

How to get to "Tieteiden talo" on Saturday morning

  • The address is Kirkkokatu 6. Lectures are held in the hall 104. The nearest tram stop is "Hallituskatu" for the trams 3B, 3T, 7A and 7B. Maps and detailed information will be distributed at the conference on Friday.
  • How to get to the restaurant "Taidehallin klubi" on Saturday evening

  • The address is Ainonkatu 3; this is one of the shortest streets in Helsinki and it is not marked in all maps. However, it is located near the Parliament House and therefore easy to find; see the map. Detailed information will be distributed at the conference on Friday and Saturday.
