Spektrum?

Spektrum rf is the association of Swedish-speaking students at the Faculty of Science at the University of Helsinki. Our members mainly study math, physics, chemistry and computer science, but we have a few extra members who study other subjects as well. The total number of members is around 200.

Spektrum was originally founded on March 23, 1933 as Kemistklubben ("Chemists' club"), but the name changed in 1961 when students in subjects other than chemistry were also accepted. In 1970 we moved into our small, but cozy, clubroom in an old coal cellar in central Helsinki. Our cellar features a small kitchen, a stereo, couches etc., all of which are available for our members to use.

The main object of the association is to look out for the good of its members, i.e. to bring together the Swedish-speaking students at UH. The way we do this is by organising all kinds of program: parties, excursions, sports, tea parties and lots of other things!

We may not have many members, but the ones we have are very active. One of the advantages of a small club is the fact that everybody knows everybody and new people are always welcome. This makes Spektrum into a very good place to spend your time making new friends, partying and singing. And why not even studying, if that's your kind of thing.

If you would like to contact us you can do it either by e-mail, messages sent to spektrum-styrelse at helsinki.fi reach the members of the board. To reach all members send it to spektrumiter-lista at helsinki.fi. Regular mail to Spektrum should be sent to the address
