Andrea Ferrantelli
News: I have now moved to Aalto University, Department of Civil and Structural Engineering !
--
I am currently a postdoc researcher in the Cosmophysics group at the Helsinki Institute of Physics, a research centre affiliated to the University of Helsinki (Finland).
- PhD in Physics, University of Helsinki, 2010. Supervisor: Kari Enqvist.
In my dissertation, I have considered the gravitino production at the end of inflation, and I discussed the according constraints on the reheating temperature.
- MSc in Physics, University of Torino (Italy), 2002.
Supervisor: Mauro Francaviglia
(Dept. of Mathematics).
My thesis dealt with a geometrical framework for gauge field theories, the Gauge-Natural formalism, and it considered its applications to the theory of Supergravity.
Research Interests
My actual work focuses on particle cosmology.
In particular, I study various mechanisms for the production of Dark Matter in the early Universe,
phenomenological aspects of Supergravity, gauge mediation, particle physics models of inflation, and related subjects.
Teaching
At the University of Helsinki, I have been assistant in the following courses:
- Introduction to Quantum Field Theory
(Fall 2007 and 2008, docent Anca Tureanu). Topics: canonical quantization fields, interacting fields, S-matrix theory and Feynman diagrams, applications to quantum electrodynamics.
- Applied Quantum Field Theory
(Spring 2010, docent Kari Rummukainen). Topics include perturbative calculations in gauge field theories, perturbative loop expansion, regularization and renormalization, gauge fixing and Faddeev-Popov ghosts and asymptotic freedom. Lattice field theory formalism is also introduced.
