  • Tundra Degradation in the Russian Arctic (TUNDRA; 1998-2000; funded by EU)
  • Arctic feedbacks to global warming: a circumpolar assessment (ARCTICA; 1999-2002; funded by the Academy of Finland)
  • Sustainable development of the Pechora region in a changing environment and society (SPICE; 2000-2002; funded by EU)
  • Global implications of Arctic climate processes and feedbacks (GLIMPSE; 2002-2005; funded by EU)
