Information on Courses in English

The Department of World Cultures arranges several courses in English every semester. See the links below for more information.
Courses in English, Autumn 2011
Courses in English, Spring 2012
Most courses require advance registration through Weboodi. If you have missed the registration deadline you can still turn up for the first lecture to see if places are available. Some courses (especially seminars) can take only a limited number of students. Registering for courses is possible only after you have received your user account at the University of Helsinki.
Typical course modules are:
- Lecture courses
Students taking a lecture course must pass a final examination or other assignment after attending the course.
- Seminar courses
Seminars and other study groups help students in independent research and discussions.
One study module may contain several types of work: lectures, exercises, set book examinations, seminars, etc.
