Intellectual Heritage of the Ancient Near East

Erik van Dongen

Erik van Dongen deals with the interactions between southwestern Asia and the Aegean, mainly in the period of ca. 1200–540 BCE (between the Late Bronze Age and the Persian Empire). He works mostly on specific routes, cases and contexts of interaction, but he is also
interested in questions of methodology. Dr van Dongen is currently studying the role of Anatolia in this context, and the significance of overland routes of communication through the area.
