"St. Petersburg / Leningrad: Narration – History – Present" is a multidisciplinary research project funded by the Academy of Finland. In the project urban studies, interdisciplinary in their own right, are integrated with the approaches to the city applied in literary studies, semiotics, history studies, visual arts, music, sociology and popular culture. The starting point is the present, which is examined in the context of the tradition by researchers and postgraduate students along with a worldwide scholarly network. The project is carried out at the Department of Slavonic and Baltic Languages and Literatures at the University of Helsinki.
