3.3.10 Numerals

Numerals realised by numbers are not tagged, and are marked with an exclamation mark, whereas those realised by words have been tagged. In the latter case, a number is given as the lexel ($5/qc_FIVE). However, a second-level tag may be given to provide information about function and contextual properties:

!_5

{zero pr}

!_5 $5/qo-n-av>pr_5

$of/pr<qo-n-av

$april/n_APRYLL

Attributive cardinal numerals are tagged with the core property /qc, while nominal ones are tagged /qc-n:

$10/qc_TENN

$1000/qc_THOUSANDE

$good/aj_GOOD

$man/npl-av_MENN

$2/qc-n>pr_TOW

$of/pr<qc-n_OF

$/P02G-n_YOURS

The prop-word one (qc-n) is given the comment {rep} 'repeated' in the lexel:

$/A+V_A-N+

$old/aj_+OUELD

{\}

$1{rep}/qc-n_WAN

$/A+C_A

$good/aj_GOOD

$1{rep}/qc-n_ONE

The pronominal use of 1/one is tagged as /qc-pn; if a determiner is present, this is indicated (/qc-pn<T), along with any relation to the pronouns another and (the) other:

$1/qc-pn>pr_ANE

$of/pr<qc-pn_OF

$/P02G_zOUR

$grace/nG{ho}_GRAC+IS $/Gn{ho}_+IS

$own/aj_AUUINE

{\}

$servitor/npl_SERUit+Our+is $-or/xs-npl_+Our+is $/pln_+is

$1/qc-pn>pn_ANE

$come/vpt_CAM

$1/qo-av_FIRST

$&/cj_AND

$then/av_THEN

$/T>pn_THE

$other/pn<T<qc-pn_OTHER

The relations between correlative constructions of the following kind are also explicitly marked:

$1/qc-n>pr>aj-pn_ANE

$of/pr<qc-n_OF

$/P23O_YAM

$come/vpt_COM

$in/pr_IN

$/T_YE

$morning/n-av_MORNENG

{\}

$&/cj_&

$/T_YE

$other/aj-pn<qc-n_OYer

$3/qc-n_THRE

$at/pr_AT

$noon/n-av_NOWN

Ordinal numerals are tagged with the core property /qo in premodification, /qo-n when functioning as a nominal:

{zero pr}

$/T_THE

$3/qo_THRID

$day/n-av>pr_DAY

$of/pr<n-av_OF

$/Dis_THIS

$instant/aj_jNSTANT

$month/n>pr_MONATH

$of/pr<n_OF

$october/n_OCTOBER

The suffix is also tagged, including zero-realizations of the following kind:

$/T_YE

!_11 $-th/xs-qo_0

$day/n-av>pr_DAY

$of/pr<n-av_OF

$/Dis_YIS

$instant/aj_jNSTANT

$month/n_MONETH

In dates, Roman numerals have been interpreted as ordinals by default, and therefore there is no tag on a zero suffix:

$/T_YE

!_XJ

$day/n-av>pr_DAY

$of/pr<n-av_OF

$/Dis_YIS

$instant/aj_jNSTANT

$month/n_MONETH
