My research
My research focuses on animal species assemblages of urban golf courses. I use carabid beetles, birds and amphibians as indicators of golf course biodiversity and investigate the influence of habitat heterogeneity on species richness.
The objective of this study is to identify habitat components and management options of golf courses that enhance biodiversity. Of further interest are the changes that take place in species associations and diversity, as green space areas are converted into golf courses. This type of habitat change is typical in urban regions where land is converted for human use, such as parks, playfields and other urban green space areas.
