My research:

My MSc thesis focuses on the effects of downed logs on carabid beetles (Coleoptera: Carabidae) in urban woodlands of Helsinki.

Urban woodlands are heavily used by the public and we need to study and propose new forest management methods in order to protect these environments. Downed logs could act as natural movement barriers and at the same time offer suitable microhabitats for the understorey fauna and flora.
