As the Bologna process is moving steadily forward, European universities vill adopt a two-cycle model for degrees starting on 1 August 2005.

The most central aims and measures of the reform of the degree structure are described in the University of Helsinki Strategic Plan (approved by the University Senate on 15 January 2003) and in the University of Helsinki Programme for the Development of Teaching and Studies (approved by the University Senate on 21 November 2002).

Vice Rector Hannele Niemi (hannele.niemi[at]helsinki.fi) is responsible for the implementation of the reform of the degree structure at the University of Helsinki
