International students may be accepted to pursue a Master of Theology degree in specialist option A2 if they have completed an applicable (Theology, Religious Studies, History, Philosophy) Bachelor’s or Master’s degree.

A graduate applicant is a person who has previously completed a Bachelor or Master's degree at a higher education institution abroad. The Bachelor’s degree is the lower undergraduate degree usually completed in three or four years of full-time study (or the scope of the takendegree should correspond to a Finnish Bachelor’s degree (180 credits).

The completed degree must also include 60 credits of studies in theology at basic and intermediate level and in one classical language. If the completed degree does not include such studies, the applicant must complete them as supplementary studies.

An applicant who has completed a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree at a university in a country other than Finland may be accepted to the Faculty of Theology without passing an entrance examination. The Faculty’s Admissions Board will assess the quality and scope of such applicants’ previous degrees.
