Registration and information desk at the venue

Participants will receive their Congress bag, including their name tag, at the Registration desk. The name tag is needed is order to enter the sessions. Opening hours during the congress at Porthania Building, Yliopistonkatu 3:

Pre-registration online

Participants should register using the online registration form, which is available HERE. Kindly register accompanying persons using the same online registration form.

All reservations (including the cultural programme and accommodation) should be made with the same registration form, also for the items that are included in the registration fee. Kindly make sure that you receive a reference number for your registration to your e-mail.

Congress fee includes:

  • Admission to the selected, scientific sessions
  • Conference bag and the book of abstracts (if you have selected the printed version with the online registration form, otherwise the abstracts can be found on the Congress web pages)
  • Refreshments during the breaks
  • Welcome reception, Helsinki city reception, Church concert and Ecumenical reception
  • Conference services at the venue

NB. Cost for travel, accommodation, insurances, lunches and the social programme of 31 July and 4 August are not included in the fees. The Congress dinner is also for a separate fee.


You can pre-book and pay lunch tickets for the Helsinki University cafeteria, UniCafe, with the online registration form:

  • 3-day lunch ticket (valid through 30 July till 6 Aug) / EUR 24 NB. CHANGE: (valid through 29–30 July; 2–6 Aug; SAT 31 July lunch cancelled, except for kosher lunch)

You can also buy lunch on site at UniCafe for EUR 9 each. Lunch includes:

  • warm meal (vegetarian option)
  • drink
  • salad
  • coffee/tea

Kosher lunch/lunches must be pre-booked with the online registration form. The price depends of final number of participants (EUR 28–45). Payment at the restaurant.

Payment and confirmation

All payments (registration fee, hotel deposit and eventual cultural programme) should be made in advance in euros (EUR) in connection with the registration. When registering online, you will receive instant confirmation of successful registration to your e-mail.

  • By invoice (an invoicing supplement of EUR 9 will be added)

Please use the participant’s reference number when making the bank transfer. The reference number will be shown on the automatic e-mail reply that you will receive after submitting the registration form online. Payment by bank transfer is to be settled within two weeks of registration, by 18 June 2010 the latest. Credit card payments will be dealt automatically.


  • All payments should be free of banking charges.
  • Bank drafts as well as personal, traveller’s or company cheques cannot be accepted.

Confirmation of participation
TAVI Congress Bureau will confirm the participation upon receiving the registration and payments. No participation confirmation letters will be sent before all the payments (including the hotel deposit and eventual social programme) have been received.

Cancellation and refund policy
Kindly note that all cancellations and/or changes to registration and accommodation must be made in writing to TAVI Congress Bureau by e-mail: or by fax: +358 3 233 0444.

If a cancellation for the participation and/or hotel reservation is received before 18 June 2010, the registration fee will be refunded with the exception of a handling fee of EUR 30 and/or the hotel deposit will be refunded minus a EUR 10 handling fee. No refunds can be made for cancellations received after 18 June 2010.

In the case of no-show, there will be no refund of the registration or the hotel deposit. There is no extra fee if a delegate’s registration is transferred to a colleague from the same organisation.

About 10 participants from developing countries (see list of countries) will be eligible for compensation of expenses if the organizers will receive appropriate funds for this. Unfortunately, no prior discount can be given but participants must register in the normal way. A free application for subvention should be sent to iosot-2010 AT by 30 April 2010. This application should include:
- name, title, institution, contact information, and short CV
- information whether one has proposed a short paper or not
- description of the significance of the congress for one's career
- estimated amount of costs (travel, accommodation, congress fees, daily allowence, travel insurance, visa costs).
If the application is accepted, the expenses will be paid after the congress and only according to the paid receipts.
