General Information about the Programme
The main papers of IOSOT are invited and will be published in a congress volume (Vetus Testamentum Supplements). In 2010, the main programme runs on five mornings (2–6 Aug) and on two afternoons (panel discussions on 2 and 4 Aug).
IOSOT also invites short papers. These short paper sessions will be held on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday afternoons.
IOSOT hosts several joint congresses that have their meetings at the same time or shortly before IOSOT.

IOSOT stands for The International Organization for the Study of the Old Testament. IOSOT was founded in 1950 in Leiden, Netherlands, as an international non-profit organization to promote scholarly study in Old Testament Scripture and related fields. International congresses are held every three years, during summertime. This is the first time that the congress will be held in Finland and Helsinki.
The president of IOSOT is elected for three years, in the end of every meeting. In IOSOT 2007 in Ljubljana, Prof. Raija Sollamo was elected as the President for 2007–2010.
