Selection

Masterprogrammes

Application Process

Doctoral students are elected among applicants. The positions are open for applicants with a Master´s level degree in theology or religious studies and with the right to study in one of the partner universities.

Election is based on written applications. These applications can either be evaluated directly by the director of the Graduate school or sent to partner universities for evaluation. The director of the Graduate School then drafts a proposal for the board of the graduate school. The board then elects the doctoral students. The students are appointed for a temporary office at their own university and faculty.

Criteria for Selection

The criteria for selection include: success in studies (including masters degree and thesis), the scientific standard of the research or project plan, and scientific publications.

The Graduate School supports talented young scholars at the beginning of their professional academic careers. The equality between men and women is guaranteed by equal selection of both male and female doctoral students. In addition, the Graduate School aims to guarantee an equal representation of doctoral students from different fields of theology and comparative religion.
