Funding

Masterprogrammes

The Finnish Graduate School of Theology is funded by the Ministry of Education and the Academy of Finland.

The Church Research Institute provides funding for a doctoral student position in 2008-2012.

The partner universities provide financial support and infrastructure for the School and its students.

Funding for Doctoral Students

The Graduate School provides four-year doctoral training positions for gifted doctoral students. During 2007-2009 these four-year grants have been divided up among 14 students because many applicants had already started their postgraduate studies and needed shorter funding period than four years.

Positions without funding (adjunct positions) are also available and entitle the student to participate in Graduate School training courses and to apply for travel funds. Currently Graduate School incorporates ten adjunct positions.

The Graduate School will accept new doctoral students for years 2012-2015. New funded positions will be opened for application in autumn 2011. The positions will be open for applicants with a Master´s level degree in theology or religious studies.
