Student cafeterias
Superb meals at affordable prices
Meals, cafe, refreshments and bakery goods at affordable prices are served in the UniCafe restaurants run by the Student Union HYY. Services and offerings may vary in the almost 20 restaurants at various locations in metropolitan Helsinki.
Cafeteria prices are low as the meals are subsidised by state through KELA, the Social Insurance Institution of Finland. In addition, the Lyyra Card entitles you to a number of bonuses. When you pay for your lunch with a Lyyra Card, you get a 10 % discount. The price of a regular lunch, when paying with the Lyyra Card, is (in 2011) 2.40 €.
As for the Lyyra Card, i.e. the student identification cards with chip, see Lyyra Web pages.
