Welcome!

South Asia primarily consists of present-day India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Nepal and Bangla Desh. South Asian Studies (or Indology) has as its object of study the languages and the culture of South Asia, with its literary, archaeological and artistic monuments going back to the third millennium BC. At times the cultural influence of ancient India has extended almost everywhere in Asia. This influence has been particularly strong in Southeast Asia on the one hand and in Tibet and elsewhere in Central Asia on the other.
