Chancellor’s Travel Grant Repeat Call

Chancellor’s Travel Grant Repeat Call is now open Sept 22 – Oct 6, 2011

The Faculty of Social Sciences organises a repeat call in order to distribute the unused Chancellor’s Travel Grant funds from this year. The deadline for the repeat call is October 6, 2011. The repeat call and funding decisions will be implemented according to the same principles as in the spring (see Dean’s decision 22/2011).

Researchers and teachers at the University of Helsinki may apply for Chancellor’s travel grant to cover the costs of foreign travel for academic purposes. The grants are particularly intended for researchers on the first and second stage of the four-stage research-career model (doctoral students and postdoctoral researchers) for conference travels abroad. A prerequisite for a grant is that the applicant will give a talk, have a poster or other scientific presentation at the conference.
In this repeat call, all Faculty of Social Sciences researchers, teachers and postgraduate students who have not been awarded the Chancellor’s Travel Grant for this year, 2011, (i.e., in the spring call), are eligible to apply. If a person has been awarded the Travel Grant in the spring 2011 call, but has been unable to use it (trip cancelled), she or he is also eligible to apply. The grant can be applied for travelling that takes place between late October 2011 and the end of April 2012.
Applications are submitted online through an electronic application form; no attachments are needed. The application period began Thursday September 22, 2011, at 08:00 a.m. and ends Thursday October 6, 2011, at 3:45 p.m.
