ACCOMMODATION

A quota of rooms in different rate categories has been booked at attractive rates in selected hotels. Below you find a list of these hotels, and you can check their locations at the conference google map.

Hotel reservations should be done via the online registration form. Helsinki will be crowded in the congress period and in order to secure accommodation of your choice, we kindly advise you to register as early as possible. Hotel reservations are to be made through the Tavi congress bureau in order to benefit from the special rates. All hotel reservations, especially after 16 July 2010, will be subject to availability. N.B. In Finland hotels have mainly non-smoking rooms and public premises or hotels have totally forbidden smoking in their premises.

Hotel Deposit

To guarantee your hotel reservation, a deposit of one night’s room rate is required in advance together with the registration fee. The deposit will be forwarded to the hotel and it will be deducted from your final hotel bill when checking out. If you must cancel your reservation, see the cancellation and refund policy below. All prices are per room per night, including breakfast and VAT. The hotel deposit is non-refundable if the cancellation is made after 16 July 2010. Sokos Hotel Helsinki

Modern and cosy Sokos Hotel Helsinki is located in the heart of Helsinki. Approx. 5 minutes’ walking distance from the University main building.

Best Western Hotel Katajanokka
Address: Vyökatu 1
The Katajanokka prison building, protected by the National Board of Antiquities, forms a unique setting for a hotel visit. The old prison cells have undergone a thorough transformation. Approx. 10 minutes’ tram ride and 20 minutes’ walking distance from the University main building and closer to the other conference locations.

Cumulus Kaisaniemi

Cumulus Kaisaniemi is a cosy hotel, located in the heart of Helsinki near the Railway station. The main sights and the biggest department stores are just a walking distance away. Approx. 5 minutes’ walking distance from the University main building.

Hotel Arthur

Privately owned, cosy hotel located close to the railway station in the very heart of Helsinki. The main sights and the biggest department stores are just a walking distance away. Approx. 5 minutes’ walking distance from the University main building. Hotel Arthur is a non-smoking hotel.

Eurohostel
Address: Linnankatu 9
Eurohostel provides comfortable accommodation ideally for budget-conscious travellers. WC / showers are situated on the corridor for shared use. There is also a restaurant at the hostel. Approximately 15 minute walk and 10 minute tram ride from the University main building. The room rate is for Backpacker category.

Hostel Academica
Address: Hietaniemenkatu 14
A modest hostel is located within walking distance from the city centre. All the rooms have private shower and bathroom, also a little kitchenette with a refrigerator. Reception is open all hours. Approximately 30 minute walk and 20 minute tram, bus or subway ride from the university main building. Please note that Hostel Academica’s room rates do not include breakfast.
