State Archives of Assyria Studies
State Archives of Assyria Studies (SAAS)
contains monographic studies relating to and supplementing the text
editions published in the SAA
series. SAAS is intended to be a medium for publishing dissertations and
other synthetic and analytic research on the Neo-Assyrian empire. The
responsibility for the contents of the volumes rests entirely with the
authors. Manuscripts are accepted in English, French, or German and
should be submitted to the Projects Director.
The production of SAAS volumes is intended to
be a throughput process and is dependent on the existence of a
completed electronic manuscript by the author. It is expected that
authors will provide both electronic and hardcopy versions of the
manuscript (thoroughly proofread and corrected), which the Project will
use to generate a publishable file. The authors formatting and layout
will be utilized as far as possible, but the Project reserves the right
to change either or both as necessary. Photographic materials or line
drawings for plates or illustrations may be included with manuscripts
and will either be electronically scanned or photographically reproduced
for publication. Special characters used by authors can be represented
by any unique character string that can be converted globally. The
author will be expected to provide a list of the characters needed and
the strings used to represent them in the manuscript. This procedure is
designed allow quick publication of manuscripts at a moderate price.
