The Research Master´s Programme in Social Sciences
The Research Master´s Programme in Social Sciences (REMS) is a full-time, two-year integrated study programme.
The programme consists of minimum of 120 credits, equalling 120 ECTS points. Upon successful completion of the programme the graduate will be awarded the Master of Social Sciences degree (M.Soc.Sc.).
REMS offers three main subjects:
- Social and Public Policy/Urban Studies
- Social Psychology
- Sociology.
As a Research Master´s Programme REMS also provides the students with in-depth skills in both quantitative and qualitative research methods.
The students graduated from the programme are eligible to apply for doctoral studies at the Finnish and foreign universities. The programme gives the students excellent means and tools to perform well in a competitive PhD programme.
REMS Programme is offered by the Department of Social Research at the Faculty of Social Sciences.
The application period for Autumn 2012 has ended. The next one for 2013 starts in mid-November 2012 and ends on 31 Jan. 2013. The new admission requirements will be updated by mid-November.
