Admission

The application period for Autumn 2012 has ended. The next one for 2013 starts in mid-November 2012 and ends on 31 Jan. 2013. The new admission requirements will be updated by mid-November.

The admission criteria and application information as well as a link to the electronic application form are on the Faculty of Social Science´s website

If there is no ongoing admission period, you can create a My UAF user account. As soon as the application period begins, you can log in to your account and continue with the application process by filling in your personal information and selecting the degree programme you are interested in. The information you have given will be compiled into a pdf document, which will become your Application Form when you print it out.

The students already studying at the Faculty of Social Sciences apply in the inner admission. More information about that here >>>

At the most 20 new students will be accepted to the programme. The breakdown is as follows:

• 5 to Social and Public Policy
• 4 to Social Psychology
• 5 to Sociology
• 6 places are reserved to students already studying the above-mentioned fields at the Faculty of Social Sciences in the University of Helsinki.

The entire programme is held in English language. It is possible to take only 25 % (30 credits) of the compulsory studies included in the programme in other language than English. Seminars and Master´s Thesis must always be done in English language.

The units participating in the programme will ensure that the qualifications of the admitted students are in strict accordance with the common standards applied in the respective units. The selection criteria are listed on the Faculty of Social Sciences´ website
