Decisions 2012

The University of Helsinki received a total of 249 applications for its vacant postdoctoral researcher positions by the application deadline. The applications were reviewed in research field-specific expert panels consisting of University of Helsinki principal investigators. The expert panels drafted a short joint written statement for each application. For further information, please see page assessment.

The expert panels evaluated the scientific quality of the submitted applications (scientific rating). The evaluation, on a scale of 1 to 5, was based on the following criteria:

1) Research plan
2) Demonstrated academic qualifications and research experience
3) Research environment
4) General assessment

The Research Council ranked the applications and made a proposal of appointees to postdoctoral researcher positions to the Rector.

Upon the proposal of the Research Council, on 26 November 2012 the Rector appointed 12 scholars as postdoctoral researchers at the University for a fixed term from 1 January 2013 to 31 December 2015.
