Assessment

In the first phase the applications will be reviewed by a pool of assessors consisting of docents, professors and principal investigators from the University of Helsinki. The assessors will work either independently or in field-specific expert panels. Each application will be reviewed in either a joint written statement by an expert panel or in a minimum of two written statements submitted by two individual assessors. The assessors will be requested to provide a scientific rating of the applications.
Having received the scientific rating of the applications, the University’s Research Council will rank the applications and submit a proposal for appointments to the Rector. The assessors’ statements are of pivotal importance for the further processing of the applications.
