Welcome!
At
the University of Helsinki, it is possible to study philosophy at two faculties.
The discipline of philosophy taught in Swedish and theoretical philosophy belong
to the Department of Philosophy, History, Culture and Art Studies in the Faculty of Arts, while practical philosophy is taught in the Faculty
of Social Sciences.
The philosophy curriculum in Swedish differs from the other philosophy disciplines
taught in Finnish in that no difference is made between theoretical and practical
philosophy.
The von Wright and Wittgenstein Archives (WWA) is also located in connection with the philosophy subjects of the Department at the 6th Floor in the Metsätalo building.
