Welcome!

North American Studies offers a broad, multidisciplinary view on the United States and Canada, examining their histories, cultures, and societies. As of 2011–12, North American Studies is part of the umbrella program of Area and Cultural Studies.

Students may take North American Studies as a major or minor subject of their Bachelor's or Master's degree or take individual courses according to their needs. North American Studies is also available as a doctoral degree program.

As a minor subject, North American Studies is open to all degree students at the University of Helsinki.
