About Nordic Studies

Nordic Studies approaches the Nordic countries from an interdisciplinary and comparative angle, looking at what makes Norden Nordic. The key to examining the societies and cultures of the Nordic region is the area and the historical and topical issues around the concept of Norden.

Teaching is given in Swedish, Finnish and English.

Nordic Studies welcomes degree and minor students alike. Also, many of the basic-level courses are customised for exchange students, and little prior knowledge of the subject is no obstacle.

The Nordic Studies programme is especially suited to those students who aim to work in teaching, research, the media, arts, literature, arts management or elsewhere in administration.
