HUB introduces you to science

A new name and revamp for the university’s international periodical

HUB edition 1 The first edition of the Helsinki University Bulletin, HUB, came out on 10 April.

The magazine follows on from its predecessor UH, and it aims to introduce science to international readers, both abroad and in Finland.

“We present scientific findings in English and news from all the University’s campuses. The magazine goes out to our international partners, and you can pick one up to take with you if you’re going abroad,” says Virve Pohjanpalo, HUB’s Editor in Chief.

The first issue features articles about a world famous butterfly researcher, a conductor and a virus that lurks in tissue. The next issue is due out in the autumn.

The printed version of the magazine will appear twice a year, and subscribers will also receive quarterly electronic newsletters.

HUB is not purely a printed periodical – it also serves its readers in digital format. The latest news is always available on the HUB website.

“You can read news and articles on the website or browse the digital magazine as well as order the printed version and newsletter free of charge.”

You can also go online and take a test to discover the professor in you!
