The secret of Finland’s success in PISA

New website launched.

The secret of Finland’s success in PISA The Centre for Educational Assessment at the University of Helsinki is responsible for implementing OECD’s PISA (The Programme for International Student Assessment) in Finland. Finland has fared extremely well in previous PISA rounds (2000 and 2003). The success has generated increasing worldwide interest in Finland and the Finnish educational system.

The Centre for Educational Assessment has now launched an English-language PISA 2006 website targeting the international community. Its aim is to respond to the increased demand for information. Rich in content, the website aims at outlining the relationships between Finnish culture and education and seeks to combine a more light-hearted approach with facts in a readable form.

The website’s address is www.pisa2006.helsinki.fi.

The content of the website is the responsibility of the Centre for Educational Assessment at the University of Helsinki (www.helsinki.fi/cea/).

The Centre for Educational Assessment is a research centre of the Faculty of Behavioural Sciences at the University of Helsinki in Finland, which mainly focuses on the assessment of “learning-to-learn”.
