Student Services (for contact information and opening hours please see below)

You can contact the Student Services in general questions about studies and student life. The offices act as a gateway to the university.

The customer service of the Open university is provided by the Student Services in the City centre.

The Student Services in the city centre is run by the Education Services department, in Kumpula the Faculty of Science study office and in Meilahti the Faculty of Medicine study office also serve as the offices for Student Services. The office in Meilahti only provides service for students at the Faculty of Medicine.

Student Services:

• You receive information about study rights and enrolment to the university.
• We process annual registrations as well as changes in address and name.
• We print official transcripts and certificates of attendance as well as give certificates for student travel discounts. We also give information on student benefits.
• We distribute year tags for the student card, study guides and the student calendar.
• We accept applications for the Finnish state student financial aid (opintotuki). NB: Mail to the Student Financial Aid board can be addressed to the Student Services.
• We give general advice on scholarships awarded by the University of Helsinki Funds and Research Foundation.
• You can enquire about courses at the Open University and how to enrol for those courses.
• You can ask general questions about many university matters.

Mon 10:00-16:30, Tue 10:00-15:30, Wed 10:00-16:30, Thu 10:00-15:30, Fri 10:00-15:00

Exceptions:
On Fri 11.10.2013 the office is closed.
The office is closed 23.12.2013-3.1.2014. You can contact the Student Services via email (studentinfo(at)helsinki.fi) when the office is closed. You can expect an answer within three working days. Visits by appointment only.

Meilahti service point
Student Affairs office of the Faculty oh Medicine (for students at the Faculty of Medicine)

• The service point does not give advice in Student Financial Aid - Kela questions.
• Beginning on May 1, 2013, you can no longer pick up a year tag or a student calendar at the service point in Meilahti.
